Peer Support

Who we aim to support
Our goal is to provide peer to peer support for Asbestos and Mesothelioma victims and sufferers. The purpose of our meetings is for people who have been affected by asbestos to meet like-minded people in an informal way to share stories and make new friends in a relaxed environment.
On some occasions, we are joined by a guest speaker to discuss issues and concerns relevant to our members. If you would like to speak at a meeting or know of anyone who would be interested please contact us.
How we offer support
AMAA is non-denominational and apolitical. Everyone is welcome to come along and share their story while gaining support, guidance and assistance from fellow members. Some of our members report the benefits of the meetings as offering:
- friendship and fellowship
- hope and understanding
- knowing that you are not alone in dealing with an asbestos related condition
- compassion, care and support
- guidance and information on issues relevant to living with an asbestos related condition
- carer networks and support
- personal recommendations of local services and organisations who deal with asbestos related conditions
- information on asbestos issues in the local community, as well as nationally and globally
- knowing that you are not alone
