Carers Sessions 2018

The Asbestosis and Mesothelioma Association of Australia (AMAA) invites you to join us at AMAA Wellbeing Sessions being hosted exclusively for supporters/carers of patients with an asbestos related condition.

The fortnightly Wellbeing Sessions are being run by AMAA in collaboration with Carers NSW & Carers QLD and will be held at the AMAA Outreach Centre (Tweed Heads Bowls Club Complex) from 10.00am to 11.00am (NSW time) commencing Thursday 22 February 2018. The gatherings are free and morning tea is served for you to enjoy.

It is important that  you register your attendance and reserve your place for the full course.  Please send through your details to the details listed below.

The details of the topic sessions and the dates of the meetings are:

  • 22 February – Stress
  • 8 March – Communication
  • 22 March – Boundaries
  • 12 April – Health & Wellbeing
  • 26 April – Grief, Loss and Gains
  • 10 May – Self Care

The six sessions are designed to equip you with skills and knowledge about your role as carer/supporter, while also making sure you look after yourself and your family.   The sessions are designed as a course and for best outcomes you should attend every session that you are able to.  We will host a gathering of patients at Tweed Heads Bowls Club (at The Cafe) while you attend the Session – your loved one will not be alone and will be able to come together with other patients.

We encourage you to register your participation or direct any questions you may have to our facilitator, Mr Rob Grimes, who will be able to answer any questions you may have.
