Products which may contain Asbestos- BE AWARE

Exposure to Asbestos can be very dangerous to human health causing Mesothelioma, a cancer of the lungs, Asbestosis, lung cancer and various other detrimental conditions.

The following list identifies some (not all) of the products that Asbestos can still be found in.

Always, wear personal protective equipment when assessing these items. If unsure, it is so very important to get the assistance of an accredited asbestos removalist.

  • Bee smokers
  • Brake linings, blocks or disc pads
  • Cement flat sheeting or panels
    • Descriptions may include: sandwich panels, cement panels, lightweight panels, cement fibre board, calcium silicate board, composite board, density board – uses include: roofing, flooring, ceiling and walls.
  • Cement pipes, tubes or fittings
  • Cement shingles or tiles (external or ceiling)
  • Clutch linings
  • Components of prefabricated housing
  • Crayons
  • Cut stone and stone chip products
  • Diaphragms
  • Ducts
  • Electrical cloth and tapes
  • Electrical panel partitioning
  • Fire blankets

  • Fire resistant building materials
  • Friction materials for, or in, internal combustion and electric motor vehicles
